Temporary Changes to Ticket Exchange Policy

All performances at the Center for the Arts at George Mason University and all other venues managed by the College of Visual and Performing Arts through May 18, 2020 are cancelled.

Important Information for Ticket Holders

Outstanding tickets from the 2019/2020 seasons will be refunded to the original payment method on June 1, 2020. If you wish to receive credit for the 2020/2021 season or you would like to donate your tickets as a tax-deductible contribution, please submit the ticket option form before the June 1, 2020 deadline. Thank you!

As cancellations of performances and gatherings become more widespread in the wake of COVID-19, the financial impact on artists and presenters around the world is becoming a harsh reality. Please consider donating the cost of your ticket(s) or choose a credit to use for a future performance.

If you have tickets to a performance that is cancelled, please consider taking advantage of one of these three options.

  1. We hope you will consider donating the cost of your ticket(s) back to the Center for the Arts as a tax-deductible contribution to support the arts in this difficult time.
  2. You may choose to receive a credit for the value of your ticket(s) to be used in the 2020-2021 season.
  3. If neither of the above options work for you, you may elect to receive a refund.

To take advantage of these options, you may:

  1. Fill out this form with your preference
  2. Contact the Ticket Office via email at cfatix@gmu.edu

Programs, artists, and dates are subject to change without notice. All patrons must have a ticket, regardless of age.

Ticket ExchangesGreat Performances at Mason Subscribers may exchange tickets for free up to the day before the date printed on the ticket(s) to another Great Performances at Mason event within the same season. All other Center for the Arts ticket buyers may exchange their tickets for a fee of $2.50 per ticket with a maximum of $10.00 per order. Tickets may be exchanged by returning the tickets to the ticket office. Tickets must be returned in person or by mail, or by providing proof that the tickets have been destroyed by fax (703-993-8650) or email before the exchange can be completed. Lost or Forgotten Tickets: If you lose or forget your tickets, please call or visit the ticket office to have your tickets reprinted for an event with reserved seating. Tickets to general admission events cannot be reprinted.

Ticket Donations: Tickets can be returned to the Ticket Office prior to the start of a performance as a tax-deductible contribution. A letter acknowledging this contribution will be mailed to the patron for tax purposes.

Ticket Fees: When ordering tickets by phone or online, a service charge will be applied to your order by Tickets.com.

  • For tickets priced $20.00 or less - $4.00 per ticket
  • For tickets prices $20.01 or more - $5.00 per ticket
  • For mailing tickets to you - $3.00 per order

Start times and late seating: The Center for the Arts works closely with the artists to start all performances on time. All patrons are required to be seated before a performance begins. Late seating will be done at appropriate breaks in the performances and as designated by the artist.

Ticket Sales 30 minutes prior to performances: Starting 30 minutes prior to each performance, ticket sales and exchanges will only be made for that performance. No ticket sales or exchanges for other performances will be made. This is to ensure that ticket windows are available to patrons who need help with issues pertaining to the performance that day. There is no exception to this policy. The ticket windows will be open through intermission to handle any exchanges or purchases for upcoming events.

Gift Certificates: Gift Certificates are available for purchase at the ticket window or by phone during regular business hours. Gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase and may be purchased in any amount. Gift certificates may be used to purchase tickets for any performances presented by the Center for the Arts. They may not be used for tickets to performances presented by rental clients.

Children: All performances require every person to have a ticket, including children, regardless of age. Youth Discounts are available for youth and children through grade 12 for all Great Performances at Mason events. Parental discretion about performances most suitable for their children is advised. More details.
