As the weather gets colder and the leaves fall off the trees, the Center for the Arts gets ready for its festive holiday season! Featuring both classic audience favorites as well as newcomers, the Center hopes to kick off the holidays with a fantastic line-up including performances from Great Performances at Mason and the Family Series

The band members of The Queen's Cartoonists perform at the Center for the Arts on November 27.

On November 26, the incredible piano quintet The 5 Browns fills the Center with all of the spirit and power of five grand pianos played together on one stage. Not just impressive musicians but all siblings as well, this “Fab Five” rose to acclaim in the early 2000's after being featured on Oprah and 60 Minutes. The special concert Christmas with the 5 Browns is an energetic performance of favorites from Bach to holiday classics, such as The Nutcracker, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Leroy Anderson's “Sleigh Ride,” that one won’t want to miss.

The Queen’s Cartoonists presents Holiday Hurrah! the following afternoon on November 27. Keenly aware of all things holiday-oriented and completely ridiculous, this musical ensemble has set out to find the best holiday-related cartoons, films, and jazz. This fun and festive performance is set to live projected clips in sync with the music, and it runs the gamut from traditional holiday vocal numbers such as “White Christmas,” “Jingle Bells,” “Hanukkah Oh Hanukkah,” paired with jazz arrangements and classic cartoon characters including Betty Boop, Bugs Bunny, Popeye the Sailor Man, Porky Pig, and more. This event is also part of the Family Series.

Next, on December 9, the Center is proud to welcome back the Vienna Boys Choir with Christmas in Vienna. Built on six centuries of tradition, the cherubic ensemble features boy sopranos and altos from eight to 14, representing 31 countries, and absolute technical mastery. Harmonizing their incredible vocals for an unforgettable night of music, Vienna Boys Choir invites its audience to make new family memories or continue a cherished annual tradition this holiday season! Watch a sneak peek of their talented performers in the video below.

Last, but certainly not least, a beloved tradition returns to the Center for the Arts just in time for the end of its winter season programming. On December 10, American Festival Pops Orchestra welcomes its newly appointed Artistic Director and Conductor, Peter Wilson, along with a special guest appearance by Conductor Emeritus Anthony Maiello, among an audience singalong and other musical treats. You and yours—even the “bah humbug” Scrooges—are sure to leave aglow and flush with holiday spirit.
