For the past 60 years, this accomplished 80-member orchestra has fulfilled a vital role as cultural ambassadors for its region to Europe and abroad. Based in Herford, Germany, the Nordwest Deutsche Philharmonic has earned an international reputation for its consummate technical skill, motivated professionalism, and captivating enthusiasm. This has attracted such world-class, opera luminaries as Anna Netrebko, Renée Fleming, Placido Domingo, and Elena Garanca, who have all been accompanied by the orchestra on their tours of Germany. Under the direction of principal conductor Eugene Tzigane, the ensemble performs Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite No. 1 and Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 in C minor. Virtuoso cellist Amit Peled joins the orchestra for Cello Concerto No. 2 in E minor by Victor Herbert.
