Conductor and Music Director Stefan Blunier leads this revered orchestra for a thrilling all-Beethoven program including the overture from The Ruins of Athens as well as the joyful Symphony No. 7. The concert also features Piano Concerto No. 4 with French-Canadian piano soloist and acclaimed Beethoven interpreter, Louis Lortie whose playing was described as “sterling…note-perfect and scintillating” by The Washington Post. Hailing from the birthplace of the famous composer, this illustrious German orchestra has been one of the key pillars of cultural life in its hometown since its founding over a century ago. The official orchestra of the Oper Bonn, this esteemed ensemble maintains a bustling calendar including a full concert schedule each year at home along with international appearances in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg.
